Is the PDF uploaded?
No. Compression runs in this tab.
Does text stay selectable?
Yes. Only embedded pictures are re-encoded. Words, links and vector shapes are copied through.
Will every PDF get smaller?
Files with large photos usually will. A text-only PDF has nothing to shrink. Pictures this tab cannot decode (JPEG 2000, JBIG2, some CMYK) are left alone.
Why not as small as desktop tools?
Those often redraw every page as a picture. That is smaller, and it also destroys selectable text. Use PDF to image if you actually want that.
Is there a page limit?
No. A very large PDF can still exhaust this tab’s memory — that is the device, not a lock.
