How EMI is calculated

EMI = P × r × (1 + r)^n / ((1 + r)^n − 1). Loan from EMI: P = EMI × ((1 + r)^n − 1) / (r × (1 + r)^n). Tenure from loan + EMI: n = ln(EMI / (EMI − P × r)) / ln(1 + r). r is the monthly rate, n is months. If the EMI is too small to cover interest, tenure cannot be solved.

FAQ

Can I find the loan amount from an EMI?

Yes. Switch to “Monthly EMI (find loan)” and enter the payment you can afford, the rate, and the tenure.

Is this only for India?

No. There is no currency lock. Use it for any loan that uses a standard reducing-balance EMI.

Does this include processing fees or tax?

No. It is the installment formula only — not a bank quote.
